Creative Digital Agency Wins Hermes Creative Awards for the Third Year in a Row

SAN RAMON, Calif. (April 28, 2021)– Creative Digital Agency (CDA)’s work for Visit Benicia was honored today with a Platinum Award for the 2021 Hermes Creative Awards, one of the oldest and largest international creative competitions for creative professionals in the world.

The winning campaign, “Great Escape by the Bay,” a COVID-19 strategic response plan for the City of Benicia, was honored with the Platinum Award in the Communication/Marketing Campaign category. Other nominees for the 2021 Hermes Creative Awards include AARP, Deloitte and Zeno Group.

“The COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating impact on the tourism industry,” says Kevin Almeida, Managing Director of CDA. “With Benicia, we had to essentially scrap our plan for the year and start over. We looked at the data and refocused on the things our audience was crying out for: day trips, outdoor leisure activities, and safe ways to relax and escape the stresses of the year — but in a way designed to drive tourism revenue for the local economy.”

With a new website, multimedia production, paid and earned media, the “Great Escape by the Bay” campaign drove a huge upswing in earned media coverage and heavily mitigated lost sales tax revenue from the pandemic, especially for a year where large public events were canceled.

Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of traditional and emerging media. Entries receiving scores of 90-100 are Platinum Winners. Scores of 80-89 are Gold Winners and 70-79 are Honorable Mention Winners.
