Report: How Does Gen Z Feel About the Proposed TikTok Ban?
The White House has signed an executive order to ban the app in the United States. How does the app’s target audience feel about it?
San Ramon, Calif. (August 7, 2020) -- A new report by Creative Digital Agency (CDA) reveals how Gen Zers feel about the proposed TikTok Ban, and brings up the concern regarding user privacy and the potential brand impact to the platform.
CDA performed a nationwide survey in the United States to measure Gen Z's changing sentiment and awareness level regarding the app itself, the privacy scandal, other social media channels, and the perceived motivations behind the president’s ban.
Key Insights from the Report:
TikTok users are very likely to continue using the app, even when they know about the data privacy concerns.
Gen Zers who don't currently use the app are now extremely unlikely to begin using the it.
Most US Gen Zers' comfort level with the app's data privacy will not be impacted even if it is purchased by an American company.
60% of Gen Zers believe the ban is motivated by privacy concerns, and 85% think it is either also or entirely motivated by political concerns.
